Gotcha Covered goes to publisher
On July 6, 2009, the manuscript for Gotcha Covered: A Legacy of Service and Protection went to the publisher, Published by Westview, Inc.! We are a little behind schedule, but the results of the very thorough editing and proofing done to the manuscript before we turned it in to Westview will insure that we have a gorgeous book. All of Rod Daniel’s photographs of the aprons absolutely sparkle and the stories contributed by our fifty registered nurses are remarkable. Early praise for the book comes from readers who have had no connection to nurses, aprons, or The Nurses’ Apron Partnership—“I couldn’t put this book down. I grabbed a cup of coffee and read it from cover to cover. I felt warm all over when I was done.” “I loved every one of the stories. I think this book will speak to many women my age, and even to our daughters and sons.” “I thought this would be a book about nurses, but it goes so far beyond that. The stories and the historical text tying together each section make this an outstanding book—one for all ages.”
You still have several weeks to get your pre-publication orders in at the deeply discounted (50-60% off) price. To celebrate the imminent publication of our book, we are publishing an online excerpt from the section entitiled “In Our Voices.” Rebekah Nesbitt, a registered nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, tells of an experience caring for a four-year-old apron-wearing little girl. click here Enjoy!
