Gathering of Aprons at Miss Daisy's Kitchen--Launch party for Gotcha Covered
September 26, 2009—Save the date! On Saturday, October 24, 2009, the official launch party for Gotcha Covered: A Legacy of Service and Protection will take place at Miss Daisy’s Kitchen in Franklin, TN. Daisy King, aka “Miss Daisy” is the author of numerous cookbooks and is known throughout the South and internationally for her Southern inspired cooking. The owner of three Nashville area restaurants and a consultant to Kroger and other food stores in the past, Miss Daisy now has her catering business and deli in the Grassland Foodland Market in Franklin. In the fall of 2007, before our book had much shape or direction, several apron adopters met for lunch at Miss Daisy’s (see photo). Daisy has remained a staunch ally and mentor for this book and she will be our hostess as we gather for fellowship and good food in her cozy deli/kitchen.
Please join us from 2:30 until 4:30 (or later) and invite your friends, family, neighbors, and nurse colleagues to come enjoy hearing the story behind Gotcha Covered.
The fifty aprons that inspired the book will be on display and many of the contributors to the book will be available for signing and reading from their works.
